Over EC – JRC
The Joint Research Centre is the Commission’s science and knowledge service. The JRC employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy. At the JRC in Petten (the Netherlands), scientists work on:
- Low carbon technology assessment and energy systems
- Smart energy systems and interoperability
- Energy infrastructures and security of supply
- Energy efficiency
- Energy system modelling and assessment
- Energy storage
- Nuclear energy – safety, emergency preparedness and response
- Knowledge management for energy
- Battery performance and safety
- Technology monitoring and assessment of the hydrogen value chain
- Testing performance of fuel cell and electrolyser
- Testing safety and performance of compressed hydrogen storage tanks and pipelines transporting hydrogen.
Het Gemeenschappelijk Centrum voor Onderzoek is de interne wetenschappelijke dienst van de Commissie. Het ondersteunt de beleidsvorming van de EU met onafhankelijk, goed onderbouwd wetenschappelijk advies.
